Got a foam lance for my new pressure washer which I got for my birthday. It foams well.

Two main uses I bought it for:
Really dirty/built up dirt
Wax/sealant removal
The first is self explanatory and actually does work well. I got my Rav4 all dirty and full of mud, foamed it, let it sit and soak in, then blew it off. I feel it got more off with some lubrication vs just a pressure wash or hose nozzle.
The second is a little odd but I used to have to spend a lot of time with dawn getting wax/sealant off cars so I could polish them and reapply it. It was a lot of arm work. With this theoretically I load it up with citrus cleaner that will eat it away and lance it a couple times, making me have to work less to get the paint ready for correction. This is yet to be tested.
Also, it totally passes the “is this fun to do” test.

Nice. I’ve wanted a foam Lance for the longest time. They just look so fun! So I take it you use it for a presoak and then go about using a wool mitt for the actual wash?

Yea I pre-soak, leave it, blow it off then wash as normal.

I say I foam before washing about 99.9% of the time, it really helps soften and loosen the dirt on the car before washing.
After rinsing off the snow foam, I’ll lightly foam again with a shampoo before washing with the two bucket method.

It helps soften and loosen the dirt so most of the dirt comes off before physically touching the car with a wash mitt and what doesn’t come off when rinsing, comes off much easier when you go over with a shampoo and wash mitt later. It’s the same as pre-washing your cloths or putting a dinner plate into soak before washing. The foam just allows the wash media to stay on the vehicles surface much longer than if you just sprayed water onto the car.
